The studio behind NeuroShot

NeuroShot did not appear out of thin air: behind the software is a practicing photographer who knows the demands of real product and model photography — and translated them into a tool for businesses.

From the photo studio to AI

NeuroShot was founded by Kay Maikowske, owner of Kay Maik Fotografie in Rheurdt on the Lower Rhine. Years of practice in product, portrait and wedding photography taught him the hurdles of traditional shoots: high costs, long waits and complex logistics.

The idea behind NeuroShot: combine the quality of professional product photography with the speed and cost of AI — without users needing photography or prompt knowledge. Real photographic experience flows into every workflow, from smart masking to lighting.

What NeuroShot is made of

NeuroShot consists of four studios, each covering a different job. The Product Studio creates product images and protects the item from being altered through smart masking; it also provides batch processing for entire assortments. The Model Studio produces scenes with AI models whose age, pose and ethnicity you set yourself. The Logo Studio places branding on real objects such as T-shirts, hoodies and business cards. The Creative Studio allows free image generation from a text description.

The image model behind it is Google Gemini: a fast variant for everyday work and a more precise one for complex detail such as type on packaging or reflective surfaces. A finished image usually takes around 15 seconds and is exported as a PNG at up to 2048 pixels. Retouching happens directly in the built-in canvas editor, with no detour through a second program.

Operations, data protection and terms

NeuroShot is operated in Germany. Fonts are self-hosted rather than pulled from a third-party CDN, so simply opening the site causes no unnecessary data transfer to the US. The application runs in the browser and is additionally available as an Android app in the Google Play Store; interface and content are available in German, English and French.

The same principle applies to the terms as to the product: comprehensible rather than complicated. You start with five free credits and no credit card. One credit equals one image with the fast model, the more precise one costs four. Full commercial usage rights to every image you create are yours, with no licence fees. Contracts can be cancelled online at any time, as required by section 312k of the German Civil Code.

What NeuroShot is not built for

NeuroShot is not a tool for free-form image art. If you want to invent a subject that does not exist, a generic image AI serves you better. The entire design is built around leaving an existing, real product untouched and generating only its surroundings. In e-commerce that is the prerequisite; in an art project it is more of a restriction.

Nor does it fully replace traditional photography. For hero shots that carry a brand for years, for products whose materiality is the reason people buy, and for advertising claims tied to a genuine photograph of the actual product, a shoot remains the right choice. That boundary is stated here deliberately, not in the small print.
