Check an image for its AI marking
Every image created with NeuroShot carries a machine-readable marking in its metadata identifying it as AI-generated content (EU AI Act, Article 50(2)). Here you can check any image for that marking — including images that did not come from us.
The image stays with you. The check runs entirely in your browser. The image is not uploaded, not stored and never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
What the marking looks like
When generating an image, NeuroShot writes two entries into it: the IPTC field “DigitalSourceType” with the value “trainedAlgorithmicMedia”, and an XMP packet carrying the same statement in IPTC vocabulary. Both are open, cross-vendor standards, so the marking is readable by other tools as well.
The marking is applied server-side at generation time and re-applied on every export — regardless of whether a watermark is added.
Limits of this check
Metadata can be removed. Anyone editing a file deliberately can delete the marking, and many platforms strip metadata on upload to save file size. Article 50(2) of the EU AI Act requires robustness expressly only “as far as this is technically feasible”.
This page checks the marking and nothing else. It cannot detect whether an image from another source is AI-generated, and it is no substitute for forensic image analysis.
